Zombi 3 (1988)

- written May 2003

More experimenting on zombies leads to zombies escaping and once again scouring the countryside for victims. But this time, there are enough scientists to want to stop the madness...and a few military soldiers willing to fight back.

Overall: Truly a bad film in a worse genre. I have no love-loss for Zombie films. I can’t stand the fact a film has the antagonist without any cranial ability and therefore characters become so one-dimensional. Also there is never any realistic way to kill the zombies so basically the struggle is futile. That combination leads to a bad story. This film did nothing to change any ideas I had and the fact that Fulci directed some of the film but not all of it truly became obvious in the cinematography. The flying head scene was just ridiculous and the dialogue it does have is sadly boring. Shot in the very village of “Apocalypse now,” the film lacked any magic Coppola had.
