Whispering Corridors 2: Memento Mori (1999)

Min-Ah has just found a diary. It tells of the relationship between 2 of her classmates, which has gone beyond friendship. And for Korean girls at an “all-girl” story, this is a taboo subject. So much so, that when one of the lovers (Hyo-Shin) takes her life, the school is shocked less than by the haunting than by the fact she was a lesbian.

Overall: It’s a good film that has so many flashbacks and hallucinogenic scenes, it’s quite difficult to tell what is current and what is old. But it shows just how taboo and secret Korean culture is like. The film isn’t much of a scary movie and the whole ghosts plotline seems more contrived than anything. But good performances and a nice story overall.
