What Lies Beneath (2000)

Norman and Claire Spencer have seen their daughter go off to college leaving the 2 of them home alone. But it is the actual joblessness of Claire which causes her to have lots of free time. Soon after the daughter's absence Claire starts to hear and see things and soon she feels that all is not well. At first she suspects her neighbor of killing his wife but soon finds out it is her husband's own infidelities which causes her this pain. Now with his deceased mistress doing the haunting Claire must figure out how she died and what her husband had to do with it.

Overall: I really think this is a good scary movie. Very suspenseful, very well-written and the acting is impeccable. The film though gets bogged down in its own ending and drew that think out for about 20 minutes - I think no more than 5 was needed. The film is fairly predictable but I wouldn't recommend watching this while home alone.

          Comparison: Shattered meets In Dreams
