Warlock 3: The End of Innocence (1999)

Kris has inherited a house with some history and goes to visit with her friends before it gets sold. But once they all arrive for the usual sex & drugs...they get a visitor. Phillip Covington comes to the house to stay and wreck havoc and soon Kris and her friends realize he’s much more than a wacky architect. He’s a warlock!
Overall: I gotta say the first watching of this movie did little for me. Was fairly boring. In fact, I had many chances to watch this film since it came out and never could find any impetus to do so. That is until finishing the movie and finding out who was in it. Ok, now you got my full attention. Ashley Lawrence plays Kris and believe it or not I completely missed who she was. Being a giant “Hellraiser” fan I blame myself a little bit but she was 16 in that film and was 28 doing this film. She’s definitely grown up!!! And Angel Boris also appears - best known for being one of the Playboy Playmates on “Fear Factor.” Watching it a second time, I can now catch all the similarities to “Hellraiser.” You’ve got people hanging by big fishhooks, a house where everyone dies a horrible death based on their desires, and the house turns into a giant maze which features a door to hell. The Warlock also acts more like the Djinn from “Wishmaster” in that he cannot cast spells and such once the victim gives up something voluntarily. The film bears almost no resemblance to the first 2 films in basically anyway. Had it been cast as a cheesy spin-off of “Hellraiser” I might have seen more connections to that film than to this series and forgiven the poor thing. Comparison: Wishmaster meets Hellraiser |
