Warlock 2: Armageddon (1993)

The Son of the Devil is back again. Seems every 600 years there is a 6 day period between a lunar eclipse and a solar eclipse and for those days, God is distracted and can’t stop the Devil. But in order to bring Daddy up from Hell, the Warlock must find 6 stones and unite them…and none of the stones are together. So he goes across the U.S. in search of them wrecking havoc along the way. But 4 Druids are prepared for this and using their magical powers instill 2 of their kids with the will power to fight the Warlock and save humanity.

Overall: I always liked Julian Sands and have to say that he is the only reason to catch these 1st 2 films. The story is copying other films so there is not much in terms of originality. I mean, pay close attention to Kenny’s dad teaching Kenny about magic and it really looks like Obi Won Kenobi teaching Luke about The Force. The ending is more about torture and bondage than actual movie making. What really confused me is why they teased us with a way u could injure the Warlock (when he’s at the gas station) then forget about it and when the 2 warriors need it the most the film essentially portrays the Warlock as immortal. Would have been better (and more cliché too) to have the weakness of the Warlock as the way to injure and kill him at the end. I think a bigger flaw was involving those who possess the stones. The holders don’t seem to know how they got them or what they are for and it’s amazing that Druids never sought to recapture them for themselves. Had the story been tighter in that the stone possessors were Druids who sought to separate all the stones to make the Warlock work harder to find them, then that would have made for a good story. Of course, since when does the son of the Devil need filings for his cavities?

          Comparison: Heathers meets Demon Knight
