Video Violence 2 (1988)

Summary: Howard and Eli have moved on from making snuff films to make a snuff cable access show. They host a show interspersing their own murders with videos made by viewers. Can anyone stop them?           Overall: I think the preferred the basic premise of this film over part 1 but the holes caused by it are quite huge and inexcusable. They have a cable access show. They create their own commercials to advertise their films which they want to sell and indicate specifically they haven’t figured out how to get them to the viewers since they clearly are trying to subvert the law…so exactly how do the viewers get their vids to Howard & Eli then? In addition, the film tries to play itself off as one entire show of Howard and Eli…but then we get a little too much info that couldn’t possible be from their point of view (most of the 3 female killers in lingerie). So the film sorta alternates between shots and never stays consistent. I will say I liked the “instant replays” and some of the gimmicks...acting wasn’t bad...gore was ok...but again, the final product just left way too much inconsistency!           Comparison: Video Violence meets Wayne’s World
