The Velvet Vampire (1971)

          Summary: Lee Ritter and his wife, Susan, accept the invitation of a mysterious lady, Diane LeFanu, to visit her in her secluded desert estate. Weird things start to happen and soon both of them are being seduced by Diane. Not until she reveals herself to be a vampire do they realize how much trouble they are really in.


          Overall: The movie isn’t remotely scary. Not sure it wanted to be. It’s more about free-love and the sixties and the counter-culture and a vampire thrown-in. Not much more than that. Wife catches hubby cheating with new lady…wife soon cheats herself with lady…wife and hubby get it back on…then both enjoy being tempted by new lady. All about love, nudity, sex and occasionally vampire action.


          Comparison: Bram Stoker’s Dracula meets the Vampire Happening
