Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans (2009)

Summary: The story traces the origins of the centuries-old feud between the vampires and their slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor, the vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his lover, Sonja, in his battle against the Vampire army and his struggle for Lycan freedom           Overall: Sure sounded like the plot (minus the monster names) for “Braveheart.” My issue with the first 2 films was too much gunplay. We do better here but the CGI was also more obvious which took some luster away. Really when the film ends the plot is both more complicated and less cohesive. I liked the ending leading into the first film…but…skip it.           Comparison: Underworld meets Star Wars Episode 1
