- Tim Jesiolowski is co-starring in "The Creek". Anyone looking for more info on Tim or his films, can visit him at his IMDB page.
Q: Tim, can you explain how you first got into the movie business?
A: I got asked to compose the score with my friend Andrew Strauss for Erik Soulliard’s first short film, “Interrogation”. We had so much fun with that, when Erik needed music for “The Creek”, Andy and I were all over it! As far as getting into the business, I guess it does help to be related to the writer/director/producer. Erik is my brother-in-law.
Q: Would you please explain your acting role in "The Creek"?
A: I wish someone would explain it to me! Heheh I wanted to be “the monster” in any movie Erik made so when this role came up, he let me have at it and I winged it… I’ll be honest, it’s not hard to look menacing…
Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.
A:
Two words – budget & quality. Watch this film knowing that the budget was around $30,000 and I think you’ll agree that Erik Soulliard has the talent to produce a professional-looking product for next to nothing. Some critics love the film, others bash it. I think it’s the nature of the game. If someone’s reading this interview, they can easily rent the film on Netflix and create their own opinion. Overall, it’s a fun film and is definitely a springboard for newer and exciting things to come from Annubis Productions.
Q: If there were one part of the filming that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a costume to work? Appearing in a certain scene? Certain lines?
A: The most difficult thing for me was getting into character. We filmed the first scene of the movie on the first night of filming. I had the first lines in the film. There was a little pressure there for me.
Q: Was there any one day, one moment where you just knew the film would work they way you thought it could?
A: As soon as I watched it with all the sound effects and music added in, I knew it was going to be something special. It was good before that, but those things really made it what it is…
Q: I see that you also worked behind the scenes on the film. Can you explain what other jobs you did?
A: I along with Andy Strauss composed the score for the film. Andy is THE MAN in the studio – he really knows his craft. After the film was completed, I helped promote it any way I could. We sold out a 300-seat theater and have been having pretty favorable DVD sales as well. We really take pride in our grassroots efforts to get this film the attention it deserves.
Q: I see that you’re also in a band. Can you tell me how that’s going and how that got started?
A: Moonshine Road – that’s us. Me, Greg Martin and Chad Kessler started back in 2005 – I wanted to be a Social Distortion cover band but somehow we ended up developing our own thing. We’re definitely a rock n roll band heavily influenced by bands like the Supersuckers and Drive By Truckers. We are currently writing original material (finally) and hope to have a CD out by the end of the year. We also hope to be on the soundtrack for the next Annubis Productions film, “12 Bells”. Q: What's next for you? What else does 2009 hold for you?
A: What’s next….hmmm… I’m really excited to be working with Andy again on the score for “12 Bells”. That film is really gonna make a dent!
Q: If you and I were to talk 1 year from today, what do you think would be on your plate at that time?
A: Chicken and broccoli.
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: It’s all out there on the Internet…unfortunately.
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?
A: “The Legend of Boggy Creek” – I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for the skunk ape.
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
A: No problem at all...It was my pleasure.
