Summary: Dave is a radio talk show host who is making sure his listeners know about the city’s newest serial killer. But he thinks there is more to these killings than the police, and he’d be right. Soon, the killer turns their attention to him and his show and he might need the audience’s help to save his own life.
Overall: Occasionally I find a film which basically starts off making no sense, has some bad colors or sounds to it and frankly, I really have troubles finishing it. This is one of those films. The title that its being marketed under now (2006) makes no sense given the plot. The old title (City in Panic) makes a lot more sense but at the same time, maybe the distributors felt that took away from the wonder and awe of the mess that this film is. It’s a struggle to get through for sure. I wasn’t quite sure who everyone was for awhile, who even the main characters were since the beginning starts off with a bunch of deaths and naked men that frankly, you had no idea where this movie was going. The film eventually starts to make a little sense as it unfolds around 60 minutes in and you will catch the basic plot…then you’ll be offended by it. Basically our killer (and I won’t spoil who it is) is killing gay men with AIDS. On purpose. Because they have AIDS. Eeeek! Bad idea for a plot, quite disrespectful and frankly although it’s “not politically correct,” I’m not sure we want AIDS killings to be “correct.” It’s a bad idea and the execution is quite abysmal. I dare ya to watch this film and make it to the 60 minute mark. It took me about 4 viewings before I finally finished it. The first 3, I kept turning it off before the 30 minute mark because as of then, I still had no idea what the film was about. It’s a dreadful film that you need to skip. I double dog dare ya to not rent this movie!!!! Comparison: And the Band Played on meets Night Game |
