Overall: There is a lot to this movie which seemed to have been done before. The trailer itself just reeked of about 10 other movies which shocked me when I noticed Sarah Michelle Geller had agreed to star here. Once the film is complete, you may find, as I did, that it had a fairly interesting chronology of events. Once you realize what happened and why and how things connect, you can go “oh, ok…that’s cool.” Then of course you sit there and wonder what took so long? It’s a long confusing movie with lots of red herrings and even more, no reason to understand how despite the truth, how she gets connected to this spirit, all these years later. That makes no sense. The film plods along too slowly at times to be fun and is too confusing to be scary. It’s hard to be scared and frightened when you spend too much time trying to piece everything together. Really no reason to watch this. Comparison: The Grudge meets The Ring |
