Summary: Dani is a Romanian police officer with loose morals and soon he’s got an “Interpol” policeman (John) helping him seek out Allison, who has been working in a church and has come across The Lexicon, a book still being written by God himself. The Angels of Heaven know that this book is special and will do anything to get it...including ripping Earth apart.
Overall: The film focuses on this book and the relationship of a body-switching demon named Belial and John, a “special” Angel who has come to help out the police. Giving away John’s identity would give the film away so I won’t do that but just know, it is key to the story. Bottom line is that the book is still a continuation of the “Second Angel War.” Humans can’t get into heaven yet despite the first 3 films and this time...the book is important. I’ll give you that the “John” character is interesting and I won’t bother comparing him to “Gabriel” but it still wasn’t that powerful. The film is trying too hard…and forgets to fill the plot holes. For one, we never get an explanation on why some American woman who was going to college to learn theology left the school and magically learned Romanian and got a job in a Romanian Church. I’ll say this...if you are planning on watching Part 5...then see this film. But you can skip all “The Prophecy” films after the first one. Comparison: The Prophecy meets Hellraiser: Deader |
