The Prophecy II (1998)

One of the few films where somehow they miraculously resurrect a dead character (similar to Carrie 2 and Alien 4). Gabriel after dying in the first film appears again, unscathed too, to find once again the key to winning the war in Heaven. This time it is the unborn of a woman, Valerie who had sexual relations with the angel Daniel. To make it more interesting it seems a Monk, Thomas Dagget, had prophesized this event of multi-world intercourse years before. Well, Gabriel wants the unborn child for himself and Daniel won't allow it. The angel Michael also appears, on the side of Daniel, and of course a big showdown is inevitable.

Overall: Weak film that just doesn't live up to anything. Firstly, the film never should have been made despite the brilliance of Walken in the first film. Do you want Thelma and Louise back too? The story drops the details on religion in this and confuses you with emotion and churchly babble. It substitutes a good performance by Eric Stoltz in the first film and replaces him with "Best of the Best" star Eric Roberts. As per the tv show "South Park," Eric Roberts should always be the first person you eat when you have no food left.

Comparison: Date with an Angel meets The Crow
