Howling VI: The Freaks (1991)

- written October 2002

Ian has come to town looking for work and soon after his arrival, a circus comes to town also. But it seems Ian is looking for a battle with the owner of the circus. The owner of the freak show is a vampire and he’s responsible for killing Ian’s family of werewolves. The battle of monsters has begun.

Overall: Can’t say I thought too much of this film. Isn’t connected with any of the prior films and by itself just isn’t very good. And Ian’s prison cell really reacts as a rubber prison cell would – come one prop guys, you can do better! Harker, the vampire/circus owner (recognize the name Bram Stoker fans), looks like “Spiderman’s” Green Goblin more than a traditional vampire. Bruce Payne is his usual personable self and the only bright spot of the film.

Comparison: Sideshow meets Godzilla versus Mothra
