It is 1489 in Budapest, Hungary and a man has just finished slaughtering his wife, children and servants when he realizes...he missed one. Skip ahead 500 years and 9 tourists have gathered in the city to visit the very castle of the 1489 massacre. It’s the first time the castle has been opening in centuries and these people were chosen “randomly.” But once the 9 get there, they realize there is something else in the house and soon they begin to disappear. Could it be the 1 leftover victim from 1489 or one of the 9 has gone psychotic.
Overall: Didn't use the word “werewolf” did I? Well that’s maybe because the film does more of a “10 Little Indians” plot than focus on werewolves. I will give the movie credit for at least hinting towards part 2, both focusing on Transylvanian werewolves. But the plot mixes “10 little Indians” with “House on Haunted Hill” regarding the “randomness” of the 9 tourists. Got to enjoy the beginning for the shot of Budapest…it was 1989 and no falling of Berlin Wall yet (at least in actually as opposed to the “Glasnost” which actually existed). Don’t be confused and think there’s a typo. Elizabeth Shé & Elizabeth Shue are not the same. Shé is a bumbling dumb blonde and Shue is an Oscar Award Winner.
