Summary: After tragedy strikes, a man and his family learn that through their loss, they have also gained. Deciding to begin anew at his childhood home, he (Burton) packs his family and embarks on the dangerous and bloody journey of redemption, forgiveness and acceptance. Where his past haunts his present and his future is dependent upon his survival.
Overall: It’s a slow film,…that really takes awhile to get going. Putting the pieces together to figure out what’s going on, and why really strains ones patience. When the film ends, it’ll make some sense but I think you’ll be upset that it took so long and soooo many detours to get there. Comparison: Jacob’s Ladder meets The Shining |
