The Commune (2009)

Summary: A young virgin finds herself isolated in a remote commune of religious "family" members with a sinister agenda to ensure their supernatural survival. With the horror of entrapment, sacrifice and familial dysfunction as Jenny confronts the evil that is her father and his new family.           Overall: It’s a very interesting film that sorta reminds ya of “Wicker Man” and “Haunting of Molly Hartley.” Jenny is in a new place with strangers and soon realizes she’s sorta there for a very particular purpose.           What makes the film so watchable were the colors. They really caught my attention and melded so nicely with the scenes. It’s a nicely written film that slowly builds as you try and figure out what everyone is up to, and why. Are they just all innocent wackos or instead conniving cultists looking for some blood to shed. Good work here by all, including, of course, Elisabeth Fies.           Comparison: Haunting of Molly Hartley meets Wicker Man
