The Collector (2009)

Summary: Desperate to repay his debt to his ex-wife, an ex-con plots a heist at his new employer's home. What he's unaware of, is that a second criminal has also targeted the property, and rigged it with a series of deadly traps.           Overall: For me, the film never worked…firstly, I do not like films that are designed to “be cool.” Films are or they aren’t, but trying to make them “seem cool” doesn’t ever work for me. The film is quite silly, very over the top and the effects frankly aren’t that good. The cast’s best asset is the cast. Hands down that’s the best part of the film but the house is too small, te plot too flimsy for me to buy into all the logistics of the traps and tortures…           Skip it.           Comparison: Hostel meets Saw
