A meteorite has crashed in the woods and soon a pink glob of goo will seep out of it. This goo has some bigtime powers and soon it will kill everything in town. Some of the local teens try and warn everyone but no one will take them seriously. Once hoards of people start to die, the real question is...can we control it?
Overall: I liked the movie! There I said it. It’s a fun film with good effects and some really suspenseful scenes. It’s really better than I expected and if you read Internet reviews out there, you’d actually be hard pressed to find people who don’t like this film. I’ll agree that Kevin Dillon & Shawnee Smith can’t act...if they could, this wouldn’t be their only starring roles. But the film has humor, has a decent story and the goo effects totally make up for the weaknesses. It’s got a ton of familiar faces, including Paul McCrane from “ER” and Erika Eleniak. It does end with a bit of sequel-potential but luckily it never got one. On it’s own it’s worth a viewing. The first film suffered from bad effects and too much social angst. This film drops the politicking of depression and anger and is just a nice monster movie. Comparison: Virus meets Watchers |
