Summary: After a girl receives a package in the mail containing a free copy of a cartoon, sent by the devil himself, she invites her friends over to party and watch the DVD. This, in turn, lets out the two homicidal cartoon characters Dr. Carnage and Max Assassin.
Overall: This movie suffered from really, really, really bad special effects and costuming. Of course, the characters of Dr. Carnage and Max Assassin are supposed to be look a little fake, since that’s the atmosphere this movie is going for but this is bad as it “I can see the zipper in the back of the costume.” The film’s core character, Candy, was supposed to be around 10 years old but was played by Beverly Lynn who was in her early to mid 20s when the film was made… which, is a huge mistake!! I didn’t really care for the plot and I really hated the little animated snigbits throughout the film. The ending sucked and the acting and the gore was just awful. The only thing that I really enjoyed about it was the atmosphere this movie had… and it reminded me of that Joe Dante story in Twilight Zone: The Movie, with all the vibrant coloring, lighting and cartoony tone. Comparison: Loony Toons meets House of 1000 Corpses. |
