John Conner, now an adult, in fear of the events that took place at a young age, lives off the grid--no phone, no job, no credit cards. After failing twice, SkyNet sends their most advanced machine to date, the T-X, to not only kill John, but his future wife as well. Once again, a Terminator is sent to protect John and his future wife but this time the future is in doubt. John must destroy SkyNet before it even starts and the TX is gonna try and finish John off, once and for all.
Overall: I had a lot of problems with this film, least of which is I didn’t think they needed a 3rd film. But the female terminator didn’t bug me as much as she just wasn’t believable. Robert Patrick was great mainly because he looked scary and also determined. This time, our lady terminator looked more like a lady at a JC Penney sale. She was definitely gonna get to her object but then wouldn’t know what to do when she got there. Also, she survived so much blowing up and gunshots, it almost got boring because you basically knew nothing could harm her. Therefore the more people fought her, the sillier it got. You figured “what’s the point?” Also, where as part 2 at least developed a nice relationship with the characters, this was like a giant sprint. No true character development and I don’t think anyone would want to get to know John Connor given how cheesy his character comes off. And really, if SkyNet really wanted John Connor dead and failed twice, why not go back farther into the past to Sarah’s childhood or even farther then that? They obviously wanted to promote how John Connor becomes tough and all but the character from part 2 did that – this one comes off a homeless veteran. Skip it.
