This is the 1972 British Version featuring 5 stories.
1) "And All Through the House": A woman kills her husband so she can begin living happily ever after, until Santa stops by. He’s been a bad boy and wants her head on a plate! 2) "Reflection of Death": A man who is leaving his wife, for a mistress (without telling the wife), dreams of his impending car crash. Unfortunately, when he tries to find out where his mistress is, it has been years since his death and his existence is a surprise to everyone. 3) "Wish You Were Here": A wealthy man and his family can’t stand the fact that an older neighbor won’t sell his home to them. So they do everything they can to drive him out, until the old man wants revenge. 4) "Poetic Justice": The traditional story of the Monkey’s Paw. 5) "Blind Alleys": An efficiency expert has taken over a home for the blind but treats them as if they weren’t even handicapped. So he’ll get his efficiency back at him, when the blind patients treat him as disrespectfully as he did them. Overall: Fairly decent film. You can tell the age of the film by the bright red blood and seemingly cheap effects (cheap for 2000 but state of the art 28 years ago). Not really scary but very interesting. |
