Stump the Band (2008)

Summary: All female punk rock band is traveling through the countryside when they end up breaking down without a soul nearby. As they scour the woods for help, the encounter 3 locals who have nothing but death on their mind. Can these girls survive?           Overall: On the whole, the movie was sorta “ok.” The ladies were decent but didn’t have much of a script to work with. The film was trying to be fun and amusing and for the most part required way too much concentration by me to stay focused. A few of the characters are downright uninspiring and you almost want them to die.           I think the film’s biggest issue is the effects. What do I always say? “If you can’t afford good effects, don’t use bad ones.” We have a scene towards end involving decapitation which was sadly so poor. Then a scene where a man standing behind a lady, throws an axes and manages to get it in into her chest, without turning around! Ugh! And…the ending to this film is god awful. The blood spurting scene looks so fake, so brutal that frankly it ruins everything that preceded it. Just a disappointing end to 90 minutes of your time. Skip it.           Comparison: Hell’s Ground meets Deliverance
