Strange Circus/Kimyô na sâkasu (2005)

Summary: Mitsuko is struggling to be a normal kid but frankly, even abnormal would be an improvement compared to what happens in her home. Her dad started off making her watch him and her mother have sex but now he’s getting her involved too. Oh did I forget to mention he’s forcing mom to watch that? It gets progressively worse for Misuko as she eventually ends up wheelchair bound, with amputated limbs watching her dad have sex with all sorts of people. You know things gotta be messed up in her head and now we’re gonna realize just how disturbed she really is!           Overall: It’s a weird film that throws in tons of red herrings, goes I n circles and finally gives us an ending that made us realize what a mind-trip we were undergoing. I guess I’ll recommend it for those looking for something super-weird, super-intense and can handle some very taboo subjects. But don’t be afraid to skip this.           Comparison: Visitor Q meets Vanilla Sky
