Summary: Chronicles the last great American showman, filmmaker William Castle, a master of ballyhoo who became a brand name in movie horror with his outrageous audience participation gimmicks.

Overall: I really enjoyed watching the documentary. We’ve all heard of what William Castle did but may not have either understand why he worked the way he did or why he kept making the films. This was a brilliantly interesting film that really captivated me. If you’ve ever seen it, the film “Matinee” with John Goodman was pretty much based on Mr. Castle. I definitely recommend every horror fan watch this film to truly understand how today’s films and even more about how today’s publicity of horror films owes a lot to William Castle.
