Sorority House Massacre (1987)

- written July 2000

Beth is having flashbacks and the trip with a friend of hers to a sorority house only seems to bring back bad memories. It seems Beth was once hunted down by her brother who killed her entire family. 13 years of repression is broken by the trip to the very same house. The killer is locked up in an asylum but as Beth gets closer to "home" he begins his process of escaping and one night finally does it. His first place to go is home to find his sis, and all he finds are young adults looking for places to fornicate. Death results and Beth must fight her life and her sanity!

Overall: Actually among many flicks offering lots of nudity and death, this film clearly benefits by a good story. The film uses lots of flashbacks and other good plot lines to improve one's viewing pleasure. Basically, this is a good movie so I recommend it - the sequels have no connection to the first film so don't be confused or disappointed. What I found most amazing is that in most slasher films, the characters disappear one by one until 2 or 3 remain and then the killer attacks the group. Here actually the killer misses one of the guys who alerts the others, while nude no less - now a bunch of people are forewarned which gives the killer more time to take them out 1 by 1. Definitely a winner here!
