Summary: Margaret and Howard don’t have the best marriage and every day it grows more and more tenuous. It looks like it’s gonna crash and someone will end up leaving. But Howard has a girl on the side that has a plan: Kill Margaret for her money. Problem is, unbeknownst to everyone, there’s a curse on the lineage of Margaret and she’ll come back from the dead to avenge her death!
Overall: Despite the fact I like Debbie Rochon, Misty Mundae and Julian Wells, I really disliked the film. It’s a mere 76 minutes long and ½ of that is flashbacks to previous scenes. All the film does, is to jump forwards and backwards, over and over again. The director had a semi-decent idea…who us scenes from multiple perspectives. But then he got himself confused by showing us scenes out of order and that only gets one more confused. Make matters worse...one scene has Howard choosing his wife’s outfit. This scene comes directly after she’s already left for work and right before his “girlfriend” is getting a call from him that she left for work. (uh, are we now imitating “Memento”?) Anyway, the outfit he picks…is not the one she ends up wearing even! Anyway, the film has a 25 minute intro involving witches and curses only to then have the next 35 minutes spent on the relationship failures...leaving us a mere 10 minutes for this supposed revenge which the dvd cover pretends is the whole plot. In essence, the revenge is the afterthought to the fact that we spend more time watching Howard discussing anal sex with his girlfriend then we see people dying. Really a bad film that needed to just be laid out in chronological order so we could see the 35 minutes short film for what it was: mishandled mumble. Comparison: Scarlet Letter meets Diabolique |
