Q: Ms. Sierra, can you explain how you first got into the movie business.
A: Well, I was 7 years old and I booked a part in Beauty and the Beast in a local community theatre. I never felt so at home in my life. I fell in love with getting into character and performing and from that day on I knew that this was going to be my passion for the rest of my life. I was so happy acting and performing in front of an audience. I knew in my heart that this was my calling.
Q: Would you please explain why you applied to be on VH1’s “Scream Queens”?
A: Its kinda funny how it happened. I actually auditioned for the first season and didn't get a callback. A year later, I was at one of my play rehearsals and I heard one of the cast members from behind me mention that there was an open casting call that day for Scream Queens 2. I casually turned around and asked her where they were being held and it turned out to be right next to my apartment. However, I had accepted to babysit that afternoon, but as I was finding out about the audition, the woman called me and canceled for me to babysit! So I ran over to the audition with 10 minutes left and "did my thing" lol. So now...back to your question! I auditioned because not only do I LOVE acting but I love the horror genre as well....greatly! What better fate than to audition for an acting show that embodies acting and horror all in one!
Q: Looking back, what did you think of your performance on the show?
A: I want everyone to know that because it was reality, many things were edited for certain peoples benefits and disadvantages to sway the audience. We all had many mistakes, but however for some reason, they felt to air mine more than anyone's. Listen 40,000 people auditioned for this show and to get picked for the top 10 is a genuine compliment. I was disappointed the first 2 weeks at myself, but I feel I definitely redeemed myself throughout the show.
Q: What would you say was your best experience, best individual performance, or perhaps just something you learned that was really beneficial to you?
A: I will answer all 3 of those questions! My best experience was definitely getting to work with 9 other beautifully talented actresses and 3 amazingly intelligent judges. The girls were like my sisters and we all learned from each other! I got to work with 3 highly acclaimed judges that gave me so much helpful advice many other actresses and actors would die for. I am so grateful in that aspect. Next question...my best performance was definitely episode 3 where I won the callback and leading lady. The motion caption suit challenge was definitely "my thing" because we weren't allowed to talk during that scene and having done musical theatre for so long, I was very in touch with being expressive! I thought the callback was shocking, but when I won leading lady as well...it was like a dream! Last question..something that was beneficial to me, was definitely the lesson to never give up. I was in the bottom two for two weeks in a row and I could have easily thrown in the towel, but what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. This show really helped toughen me up and seeing how hard the competition was in this business, I will never stop acting and I will never give up the fight for my dream and that is a promise!
Q: Was there anything that did not air on the show, that you would like to share? Maybe something funny off the set or maybe unaired competitions or something else?
A: So glad you asked this! The girls called me the 'goof" of the house! I was constantly being silly n cracking jokes that made all the girls fall on the floor. I wish they would of showed all the silly things we all did instead of the Tai and Gabby drama. I guess with reality TV people want to see fights. ugh. I hate drama, but I love laughing! They didn't show a ton of stuff that went on, but they only could have 60 minutes of footage, so they had to cut a lot out. One thing that still upsets me today is that when I got eliminated, Jamie King started crying and came onstage and hugged me and whispered such kind encouraging words of advice in my ear. It bugs me they cut that out, but I know the reality.
Q: Looking as the top 3 finalists, do you think that they made the right choice for the winner?
A: I don't want to step on anyone's toes, so I am not going to answer this with a paragraph, but just simple and sweet. No. Jessica should have won.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about this experience?
A: This show has given me so much exposure, knowledge, insight, experience, and a one of a lifetime opportunity. This show will forever be in my heart and I thank the producers, Joke and Biagio, for believing in me and taking me into their project. I have booked 3 movies already from directors watching this show! I feel so blessed and am excited to keep on acting! I start filming a movie called Prey to God in June as the lead actress by Laughing Zombie Productions and Blood and Guts Productions. You can find out more at www.preytogod.info.
Q: Can you tell me a little bit about films and projects you have worked on in the past?
A: I have worked on quite a few projects throughout the years. haha It might be easier to check out my website which has all of them at www.sierraholmes.com.
Q: Is there any movie director or producer you’ve never worked for that you really want to work for one day?
A: Omg. Definitely Steven Spielberg or Tim Burton. If they are reading this...PLEASE CONTACT ME! lol They are amazing and highly intelligent and creative directors and I would love to be in one of their movies!
Q: If we were to do an interview 1 year from now, what do you think you’d have going on that we’d be talking about?
A: I would hope to be on the big screen! I want to be a versatile actress doing all kinds of movies! Horror will always be number 1 in my heart, but I want to be able to do everything.
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: I just want people to know that I am very down to earth girl and no matter how far I may go, I will never get big headed. I feel no one is better than another. I promise to always stay level headed and will never get like Mariah Carey..ooops! Was that too much? lol I'm a small town girl and will always treat my fans like my friends.
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?
A: I recent watched the biography of Anneliese Michel. This movie had real life footage of her being possessed! I love movies about demons and about being possessed for some reason because it really creeps me out! They made "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" about her. Definitely check it out! Ok, so the movie that I have seen recently that most people probably haven't seen is definitely "The Human Centipede" Totally a Siberian film. I cannot get the images out of my head. If you love horror, watch this movie....very "out there" but worth it! Thanks for this interview!
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
