- Sean Gordon has appeared in many movies, including "Silent Night, Zombie Night" and his upcoming film "The Oatmeal Man." Anyone looking for more info on Sean or his films, can visit him at his IMDB page.
Q: Sean, can you explain how you first got into the movie business.
A: I actually first started off in the business as an actor. After sitting around ALL day waiting for shots to be set up, I couldn’t help but absorb, learn, and appreciate all the inner workings of movie making. I’ve always loved movies because they are so complex in creation! It takes so much creativity and so many different people to bring a story to the screen. In other words… a challenge! Count me in!
Q: Would you please explain your role in the production of "The Oatmeal Man."
A: I’m Producing, Directing and Starring in The Oatmeal Man, perhaps because I like the challenge but I really have a clear vision of the script and exactly what is needed. It’s actually fun for me to do a million things at once. It’s when I’m just chilling or hanging out that I feel like a loser… Hahaha, I’m a workaholic. I’m addicted to workahol.
Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one’s product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about this film.
A:
The Oatmeal Man is a comedic adventure disguised as a horror flick. It’s everything and nothing that you might expect from a movie called “The Oatmeal Man” so be ready for a fun and unique film!
Q: If there were one part of the film that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a scene to work? Certain lines? Location difficulties?
A: Believe it or not, getting oatmeal to do exactly what you want is quite a task! There are a good amount of practical oatmeal effects shots and gags so it’s a real mess!
Q: Was there any one day, one moment where you just knew the film would work they way you thought it could?
A: To tell you the truth, the whole shoot is coming out exactly how I planned. Usually you write one movie, film a completely different one, and then edit yet an even different one but everything we’ve filmed so far has turned out just as I envisioned and even the few scenes that are already edited are looking just as they ought to hahaha! Gotta love that!
Q: What's next for you? Can you tell me what you have going on in 2010?
A:
I have the rights to 3 more killer scripts so I will be getting to work on the next one as soon as we are all done with The Oatmeal Man! This next one is going to literally change the face of movies so you should definitely keep a close eye out for it!
Q: Is there any movie director or producer you’ve never worked for that you really want to work for one day?
A:
Actually, I’d love to meet or just hang out with Robert Rodriguez. He sorta reminds me of myself as far as how we think and work (judging by his commentary of course). Actually, my middle name is Rodriguez. It’s the last name of the dad that I never met… hmmm, maybe there’s a connection there! Robert! Dad?
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A:
YES! If I ever die at the hands of a mysterious conspiracy, my left foot has webbed toes… So you can I.D. my body a little easier ;-)
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?
A:
Midnight Meat Train was pretty awesome… The Scream trilogy is one of my favorites, as well as the SAW movies. Obscure-wise, Feast and From Dusk Till Dawn are GREAT!
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
