Scanners 5/Scanner Cop II: The Showdown (1995)

Karl Volkin is a scanner with a vengeance. Sam Stasiak with his scanning powers made Karl kill his own brother. Now Karl wants revenge and he’s found a whole new way to get stronger. Karl is sucking scanners dry as a bone. Sam is looking for his real mother and hopes the Trans-Neural Resource Center (a gateway for scanners) is the place that can help. But Karl decides to use the same place to find more brain food and torture Sam at the same time. Needless to say, Karl gets to Sam’s real mom first but Sam won’t stop there until he scan Karl into pure atoms!
Overall: If you take a look at where part 1 through part 5 has taken us, you’d never would have guessed that part 1 was to be all about ephemerol and by part 5 they would have special ephemerol for just Sam. Basically by part 5 they skipped most of the problems the first 3 films focused on and just skipped to the action. The good thing about part 5 is it took away the cheesy effects from parts 2 & 3 with people flying all over the place. Also this is the 2nd horror film for a “Head of the Class” alum is Khrystyne Haje (Tony O’Dell in “Chopping Mall). Comparison: Police Academy meets Mannequin |
