Saw II (2005)

Summary: Jigsaw is back and this time he wants a larger audience. He has kidnapped 2 handfuls of people in a non-descript house and locked them in there giving them his usual brand of puzzles to solve. But this time one of the victims is the son of a police officer and it seems Jigsaw is very interested in having that officer involved in the game. But time is running out and no one knows where that house is.

Overall: I’m a big fan of the first film so I knew I had to be watching this film today. The film is overall very good but I did wanna point out some things. The fact that all these people are in the house means that we can’t learn as much about them as we might want. What made the first film so good was the character development. This film, we see a lot about the cop, jigsaw and almost nothing of the other victims, outside of what’s on their tape. Some of the plot devices and such, I did figure out early on, (not giving it away right now though.) But definitely the ending was wholly a surprise and shock and again, another supreme job done there. The use of the prior movie’s scenes, story and other stuff was definitely well-done and did help to ensure this movie looked good. But if u didn’t watch the first one before this…you may find yourself disappointed. Overall, a good job.
