Return to the House on Haunted Hill (2007)

Summary: Ariel is investigating her sister’s death and has come into contact with a few people she’ll wish she didn’t. Her sister, Sara was a survivor of the Original Vannacutt house and now she’s been kidnapped and returned there. There’s these bad guys who think an evil idol resides there and they want it. But Sara’s Professor friend also wants it and he too shows up. Once they are all inside, they realize the house is happy for the challenge and wants to kill them too!           Overall: Frankly I read a lot of unhappy reviews online but I disagree. I liked the film. I will agree that there was no need whatsoever for a sequel. But given that, I loved the effects and was impressed by the work that went into the film. A few too many characters to keep track of, but overall, the point was effects and flashbacks and gore. Nicely done!           Comparison: House on Haunted Hill meets Session 9
