Return of the Living Dead Part 2 (1988)

- written April 2001

A boy ends up locked up in a morgue and when a few crypt diggers come to visit the end up letting the kid escape, but not before a few other kids end up opening some nasty canister filled with zombies. Soon the zombies and the green stench and fog that accompanies them will wake up all the corpses so that they are hungry for human flesh and go in search of it. Needless to say that the town is overrun very fast and only the grave robbers, the kid and a few couples in love can save what is left of the town.

Overall: This film is probably the reason I dislike zombie films. The film is all spoofs and fun and basically with a zombie film you need no plot, no story, nor even any acting. Basically you can't kill what's already dead, so you must escape and considering that zombies can't seem to be able to run, people always get caught anyway. I guess the whole point of how immortal the zombies are (oh, there's an oxymoron - "immortal zombies") is the fact they are in canisters in the first place to keep them from breathing fresh air. Huh? If you want to laugh and enjoy a spoofy horror film, you'll enjoy this film and the series. Basically I prefer some seriousness, plot, and some genuine creepiness - I missed big time with this film!
