Summary: The T-Virus has spread across the planet, turning most of the planet into zombies. Alice is one of a handful of survivors who must remain constantly on the move.. She uses her new psychic powers to save a convoy of survivors led by Claire Redfield from attack by mutated crows. Alice has found a notebook that indicates there may be a community of uninfected people living in Alaska but to make the journey they need to detour to the ruins of Las Vegas to obtain more petrol. At the same time, the Umbrella Corporation is trying to find an antidote to the T-Virus and believes that it can do so by harvesting Alice’s blood. The final battle may be in the city that never sleeps!
Overall: I loved the first film, felt the 2nd one was “so-so” but this film just forgot to connect the dots. It explains a lot “globally” but when you think about it, little makes sense. How did everyone get infected? How did these survivors make it 5 years alive? How does Umbrella still control “Alive”? The whole “post-apocalyptic” world turned me off and frankly, regardless of what the director and producers argue, you can’t make a scary daytime horror movie. Boiling down in simplistic terms...what scares people? Zombies? Maybe. Killer Dogs? Sure. “Daytime”? Uh, no. No reason to see this film other than to ensure you caught the whole trilogy...Well, until “Degeneration” gets released. Comparison: Resident Evil 2 meets Mad Max |
