Python (2000)

- written January 2004

A giant snake that has been genetically enhanced is loose and after surviving a plane crash is really pissed off. So it is looking to eat everyone in its way and nothing east of Monrovia, California can stop it. Not even Freddy! Nor Jenny McCarthy. Not even Johnny Rico from “Starship Troopers.”

Overall: A very bad film which atrocious effects. Has a fairly familiar cast (Robert Englund, Jenny McCarthy, Casper Van Dien) but a terrible story. There are enough holes to drive a 50 mph, 120 foot long snake through...oh, sorry they already did that. Snake survived the plane crash, all the bombs, gunshots and everything else but gets stopped by a car window???? 2 of the actors also happened to appear as kids to Chevy Chase in the “Vacation” films. And I can’t forget to give props to the bar at the end -- the “Fourth Dimension.” Been there plenty of times to play pool myself and only now did I realize the significance of it. Amazing.
