Prom Night (2008)

Summary: Donna Keppel is still haunted by memories of Richard Fenton, a teacher who developed an obsession with her and slaughtered her entire family 3 years ago. It is now Donna’s prom night. Just as she departs with her friends, police receive news that Fenton has made an escape from the asylum where he was kept. Needless to say he finds his way to the same hotel where the Prom is being held and you can imagine what he’ll do from there.           Overall: Well this is truly nothing like the 1980’s film outside of the title and the fact there happens to be a prom event. Otherwise, totally different film here…frankly it might be more like “Halloween’s” basic plot than the film by this name. We have a psycho killer who has escaped and is coming after our heroine and she’ll have to lose a few friends along the way. I did find the film quite suspenseful and very eerie as you get the feeling everyone is being watched. I think the film is decent…although the ending gets dragged out a bit too much. I do think some of the deleted scenes could have been kept to keep the story tighter though. Overall, totally worth a viewing.           Comparison: Halloween meets Prom Night
