Playroom/Consequences (2006)

Summary: 5 friends are together for a weekend of fun and Debauchery in Philadelphia. But soon they realize this night isn’t like any other...and not all of them will live through it.           Overall: The film has some nice ideas, sorta copying “Hostel” until we see the twist at the end. Nice ideas, but can’t quite get all the way there. The beginning tries to give us a prelude to future events but by the end of the film, those events are easily forgotten and useless. The group never looks as young or as old as they’re supposed to be which sorta confuses the film’s timelines. The film sorta just jumps ahead at times to get us to the torture and mayhem, forgetting some of the cohesion needed to make the plot work. Then once we find out the “truth,” well it’s a little hard to buy. All this time huh? Interesting indie film for sure. Good acting but an “ok” plot that could have used more editing.           Comparison: Hostel meets Prom Night
