The U.S. government has decided to win the war in Vietnam by creating a killer species of piranha which they hope can do some damage in the North Vietnamese swamps and rivers. But when the war ends without any of the experimental fish being used, you gotta put these fish somewhere. But the pool they’ve used isn’t very well guarded and the missing hikers who vanish start the chaos that will ensue, when these fish end up in the local river.
Overall: Film is just ok, even for the time period. The effects aren’t that good and there is more blood in the water than actual showing of the mutated piranhas. There is an attempt at a story but it acts more as a copy of the Jaws films than being anything unique. I’d say skip the film unless you are dying to watch films about every possible animal.
