Phantasm II (1988)

The Ball is Back. Seems 7 years after the original story, Michael has grown up and wants some revenge. He has been getting these weird dreams, many of which involve some pretty blonde girl. Reggie is back to support Michael but only after his house is blown up (for the 2nd time). Now Reggie has a personal score to settle with the Tall Man and our determined travelers eventually pick up a traveling companion, Alchemy. Sparks are set to fly here as they travel all throughout the west in search of their destiny. On the way they find only destruction and desolation. The battle between good and evil will take place in Perigord, Oregon where the dream girl, Liz, lives. Will this be the finale for the Tall Man or does he have another trick up his sleeve?

Overall: Good film which almost lives up to the original, but at least has more action. The chainsaw scenes remind me much of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2." But the scenes involving dreams and which omens they hold, brings me too much into the Freddy Krueger genre, with "Dream Warriors" and such. Nice film, one of the few sequels that was necessary to finish the story.

Comparison: A Nightmare on Elm St. 3 meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
