Pet Sematary Two (1992)

Jeff is very close to his actress mother and her death while shooting a movie comes as a great shock to him. His father comes to the rescue to take care of Jeff, in dad’s home town. But this town is full of secrets, including the cemetery where the Creeds had their little fun a few years back. Now with rumors, innuendo and a few episodes of being bullied, Jeff wants mommy back but mommy‘s gonna have a taste for blood.

Overall: Not a very good film at all, especially due to the lead actor: Mr. Furlong. Never thought much of this kid and more so after the film came out. He lived with his grandmother in the town I grew up in and went to see this very movie with his grandmother - to the theatre I worked at. The kid made ungodly amounts of money on this film, then paid $4.50 for each of them to show up to it. Eeeeek!

The movie does a poor imitation of part 1 but making us believe what the kid does is worth it. part 1 was awesome and scary because it pout you in ethical binds where the rationality of what the protagonist was doing, seemed ok. Here it’s flat wrong. Clancy Brown is normally pretty good but he’s so obviously trying to copy Fred Gwynne it reminds you who good Gwynne was and how deficient Brown and this film is. Anthony Edwards ended up backing into a good role in “ER” but it wasn’t because of this film. Furlong’s brief career ended with this film.
