Louis Creed and his family have just moved into a new house, planted right next to a road frequented by speeding semi trucks. When the family is away, Louis' cat is killed by one of the trucks and recognizing the family's love for the cat, Louis decides to bury the cat in the "Pet Sematary," the Indian burial ground section of it in hopes the cat will come back to life. It does but the cat is now evil and definitely not out for love and affection. When Louis' 2nd son is killed he decides to do the same thing because he thinks he's found a way to save the corpses from the evil. When the son is trying to kill mommy, he knows he was wrong!
Overall: I still rank this film as one of the scarier ones out there. It’s a serious film with no cheese or silliness. The acting and effects are very believable. I loved the story and how they dealt with it. The film is very much about loss, emotions, and grief. It really tries to get you to buy that regardless of the consequences, the love is so powerful, they will take the actions they do. I bought it! Love the film. Go see it…skip the sequel.
