Summary: After a young, middle class couple moves into a suburban 'starter' tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.
Overall: I enjoyed the film, a lot. I thought it was nicely scary and really weird and creepy. What I really thought was both useful and helpful was the “speedy” way we saw the action occurring via video fast-forwarding. It was soooo “Blair Witch”-ish in so many ways…the tension, the slow but steady increasing of action, etc. It’s a very simple concept, very cohesive, easily imagined by the audience. We have some really good stuff here and that’s why I enjoyed it. Effects were just good enough but not too cheesy. Comparison: Blair Witch Project meets Poltergeist |
