Panic/Bakterion (1976)

Summary: An illegal medical experiment has gone wrong and the scientist involved has turned into a mutated monster looking for blood. Fearing it’s contagious, the government has quarantined the town and is prepared to incinerate the whole thing. But one police captain is prepared to stop it and save the still living citizenry…but is it too late?           Overall: What actually interested me about the film is that some of the ideas were actually later used in “Outbreak.” Unfortunately this film is really slow, boring and not very good. The dubbing didn’t help but frankly who’d believe any of those people were British anyway? Besides…who could fail to rent a film where a character is named “Captain Kirk” and it’s not a spoof either??? The best part of the film is probably the lady in blue top in the movie theatre…because the rest of the film isn’t worth watching!           Comparison: Outbreak meets Track of the Moon Beast
