Q: Hi Monique, glad to have you back again. Without giving too much away for later questions, what have you been up to since we last talked (July 2009)?
A:
I'm happy to be back! WOW. Well, First of all I JUST had a baby! I've done film after film after film! I have been constantly working and I'm SO blessed to be able to say that.
Q: Tell me a little bit about some of your new projects. First, “No Strings 2: Playtime in Hell.” How did you get involved and what’s it about?
A: Well, I had been wanting to work with Robert Gifford for awhile and he wanted to work with me as well. He contacted me and asked me about working on this project. I was SO very down for that. So we made it happen! If you want to learn more about the project, go here: www.nostrings2.com
Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.
A: They should know that this film kicks ass! You'll have to wait and see the film to agree with me. Until then, you'll just have to take my word for it ::bats eyes::
Q: You have a huge cast of stars in the film. Tell me a little bit about your costars and your experience with them: Damien Colletti, Anju McIntyre, Anne Ferrari, Julie Anne.
A: Everybody was great! The cast was like a family. When I got there everyone was so friendly and fun. When you get that many women together, you usually get someone who's catty. Didn't get that at all. I had worked with Anju before on "Satan Hates You," so is was good to reconnect with her again. I missed out on the party festivities the night before I arrived, but I'm a mommy, so I was taking care of mommie business.
Q: Tell about some of the films you worked on: "First East Fifth Bliss?"
A:
East fifth Bliss is a dramatic comedy that starts Michael C. Hall & Lucy Lui. As per usual, Michael Knowles (director) was absolutely awesome! He knows what he wants and he works well with the cast while getting exactly what he's looking for. I had first met him on the set of his film One night as an extra. I've worked with alot of directors, but he's one of the ones I'd love to continue working with. If you want to learn more about the project, go here: http://www.eastfifthbliss.com/
Q: Also recently you have been working on “The Good Parts”?
A: Yes, this was VERY different for me because its a drama. You know I'm used to the cut em up and "let the bodies hit the floor" type movies. It was very challenging for me, but turned out to be really good. It was hard however, being away from my son, who wasn't even two month at the time of filming, for 6 days. On top of everything, I had to learn how to play baseball for the character. If you'd like to read more about the project, go here: http://matthewwarner.com/blog/
Q: How about “Satan Hates You”?
A: YES!!! I had a blast of that set. I got airbrushed all red and got to be a little naughty :) That is a MUST SEE film. It stars people like: Debbie Rochon, Angus Scrimm, Reggie Bannister & many many more! For more info on the film and to see the trailer, go here: http://www.satanhatesyou.com/
Q: Finally, are there any films I’ve missed?
A: :) Lol, lots!! There are lots of updates and films that I'm involved in. I just recently worked on "Play Dead:The Movie" which was very fun and I had a really cool character. I enjoy my entire experience on set. Man, that Phili Crew rocks! You can read more about them here: http://www.backseatconceptions.com/09/index.php or find out about Play Dead The Movie: here: http://www.backseatconceptions.com/09/index.php I'll be going up to Maine this summer to work on a film called: The Red Shirt ( http://www.freighttrainfilms.com/Red_Shirt.html ) I'm also working with Brenna Roth on a workout video called "Scream Your Ass Off" we're still looking for some funding for that. Its going to be a troma release! If you'd like to help us out, email me (thaoriginalgata@gmail.com) or Brenna (brennaleeroth@gmail.com) and we'll give you more information! Q: Can you tell me what else you have planned for 2010?
A: My band (Negro Childe) http://www.facebook.com/negrochilde?ref=ts has been rehearsing heavily in order to meet the demand for us to perform this summer, so watch for that :) I also have a host of other projects slated for this year, but I've dropped enough links for 5 interviews combined, don't you think? ::smiles:: I have more announcements coming soon, so just follow me on twitter or facebook to keep up with my madness.
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: You guys are awesome!!! That's all I need to add.
Q: Finally...can you name a horror movie you’ve been dying to watch but just haven’t had the opportunity to see yet?
A: Hmm...let's see...NOPE...I have afew horror movies that I have to see because its MY genre and I know folx will ask, but dying to see...that hasn't happened in a little while sadly :(
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
A: Thank you for taking the time to do this again as well. You are truly...The Best... The Gata...out!
