Overall: I gave you the “pro-mangler” summary...one that supports this movie attempting to be a sequel to the original film. Now let me give you my summary for this film. Tell me if sounds familiar. (and yes, it’s the same movie). 2 thieves break into a house that once they get into, they can’t get out of. Inside the house is the leading male antagonist who has one of his children locked into the rooms. But this house also has a lot of space between the walls and soon the only way out may be to go within the walls, and climb out the stairs. Sound familiar? I’m not suggesting it’s anything other than a “Mangler” sequel but really seemed to borrow from another film. Well the fact that the mangler machine disappears for a full 60 minutes from view, doesn’t help either. Anyway, a lot of internet reviewers gave this film good reviews. Much of that comes from the fact that they had no expectations from the film. I’m not gonna go quite that far. Sure the film wasn’t awful – it had decent acting…looked like the budget exceeded $1000. It’s not an awful film. But the film’s shortcomings come solely from the fact the plot is slow, boring and set where each scene is within a room, room after room. Much of the film just doesn’t go anywhere. And you can’t really root for any characters since they all have their flaws. Only reason to watch this is for fans of the series.
