Mammoth (2006)

Summary: Frank is a Museum Curator and he’s got a 40,000 year old Mammoth carcass on display for all to see. But today he’s accidentally found a device that calls for the alien mother ship, which crashes into his museum, and possesses the dead dinosaur and seeks to wreck havoc all over the town!           Overall: So many, many things were wrong with this film. In fact, not sure anything went right for it. The mammoth is preserved in some ice thing that isn’t melting. He drills in it and finds an alien beacon. The alien arrives and posses the carcass…which is rotting and decrepit. Then the creature plummets through town, occasionally with nothing particular in mind but to occasionally get screen time. There isn’t enough of the creature for the film as it tends to spend much of the time on father/daughter relationship stuff. And the little Mammoth scenes we get aren’t very good, the effects are bad and frankly, the plot left a ton to be desired. Just poor, poor cohesion and plot writing. As I said, there’s basically nothing good about the film.           Comparison: Jaws meets Men in Black
