Magic (1978)

Summary: Corky is an up and coming ventriloquist and magician who has a chance at stardom. But he’s paranoid and terrified of it too. See...his dummy is real and he knows it. And once he’s sequestered himself away, he realizes he’s no longer in control!           Overall: Basically it felt like the Twilight Zone Episode of “The Dummy” with a romantic twist thrown in. Oh, and Anthony Hopkins too. It’s just way too long and boring though. Hate to say that with a cast also including Burgess Meredith. But my fav scene was when the 2 sit there, Meredith challenging him, thinking he has Hopkins secret. Asks Hopkins to keep Dummy quiet for 5 minutes and we just sit and watch to see if he can make it. That was brilliant! Otherwise...slow, plodding...forgettable.           Comparison: The Dummy meets Rocky
