Madman (2006)

Summary: The real monsters in life are human. One of those monsters is the Notorious MADMAN. Thirty-nine brutal murders have happened in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the police and local law enforcement agencies are still trying to find the killer. They know that he is a mask wearing villain that goes by the name of MADMAN. A gorgeous news reporter is hot on the killer’s trail when she becomes one of his victims. This time he is not leaving any victims to tell the world of his reign of Terror! This gruesome tale will keep you clinging to the edge of your seat. Look out because the MADMAN may be coming to your town! (taken from the dvd cover)

Overall: Like all of Jeremy Isbell’s films, the dvd covers normally contain more plot than the films do. However unlike much of the stuff he passes off as “films,” this might be the most legitimate stuff he’s ever done. It sure helps that it’s only 26 minutes long. However if it wasn’t for the fact he uses footage from his other films and pretends it’s new stuff (the victims of “the Madman”), I might actually have nice things to say about the film. But...I don’t. It’s all narration in the beginning...9 minutes worth. The film is only 26 minutes long and more than 35% is solely narration. Then we have some guy in a bad costume standing next to a girl in her underwear, tied to a chair, and he rambles on and on and on to her before killing her. If it wasn’t for the fact that 2 characters flubbed their lines and the killer at one point needing to adjust his mask because the scene didn’t go as he planned, this might be credible work for Jeremy. But...it isn’t. Another skippable film.
