The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe (2008)

Summary: Chris and Nicole have moved to Luna Bay with their Aunt to try and make a new start of things. But Nicole falls for a former professional surfer who runs the “bad crowd” and soon Chris, also a former pro surfer, will need to rescue her. Oh and did I mention there are vampires here too?           Overall: Well I though the film had decent effects and just tons of blood and gore. But I will ask, did we really need this sequel? Especially all these years later? Obviously there were rumblings of a sequel as well as a Lost Girls” spin off soon after the original film got released. And that’s fine…but 20 years later? The Coreys have lost credibility and the film’s connectors to the first film, though admirable, still came off as cheesy. I can’t rip it for trying to be loyal since that’s one of my staples. But cheesiness can be prevented and that didn’t happen here. Funny but when you watch the deleted scenes, most of the work to connect parts 1 & 2 were left there. As it is, I’d have left the ending alone…the alternate endings just make the film more muddled.           Comparison: The Lost Boys meets Point Break
