Summary: Sam and his older brother Michael move to the California coastal town of Santa Carla as their mother goes to live with her father following her divorce. Michael meets a beautiful girl named Star who already has special friends and soon to get to her, he’s gottta make friends with these troubled youths. Meanwhile Sam meets 2 brothers who are a little odd, claiming to be vampire-hunters. What Sam and Michael soon find out is that this town is the murder capital of the world and they’re about to be the next 2 victims.

Overall: Watching this movie a good 21 years after it’s release…well it seem like a bit of a letdown. I admit I saw it in the theatres the first time and the cast and the story were awesome at the time. Now, in 2008, eh, not so much. It’s a decent film but has its flaws. And maybe it’s how our actors have progressed over these 2 decades which has caused the film’s shine to be worn off a bit. Love the outfits though!!! And maybe it’s me but the tagline for the film is almost cooler than the film. It’s obviously a tribute of sorts to “Peter Pan” but it is glitzy: “Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die.” Hell yes!

Comparison: Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Goonies
